Grade Chemical Composition Physical Properties
301 16-18% Cr, 6-8% Ni, 2% Mn, 1% Si, 0.15% C High strength, excellent formability, and ductility.
304 18-20% Cr, 8-10.5% Ni, 2% Mn, 1% Si, 0.08% C Excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability.
316 16-18% Cr, 10-14% Ni, 2-3% Mo, 2% Mn, 1% Si, 0.08% C Superior corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides, acids, and marine environments.
430 16-18% Cr, <0.75% Ni, 1% Mn, 1% Si, 0.12% C Good formability and corrosion resistance, especially in nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and some organic acids.
